Support Services Assistant
Under the leadership of the Support Services Supervisor, the Support Services Assistant assists in preparing and serving meals

Work Environment
The Support Services Assistant must:
•  Be able to work with distractions and background noise
•  Be able to work with/around young people (ages five through eighteen), as well as adults
•  Show initiative, flexibility and a team orientation
•  Be available for evening and weekend work

Qualifications Required:
•  Food Safe certification
•  Customer service orientation
•  Experience in institutional food services
•  Ability and desire to provide excellent food service and housekeeping for clientele
•  Experience working in a recreation environment is an asset
•  Ability and desire to provide excellent meals for YWCA YoWoChAs Outdoor      Education Centre clientele
•  Experience housekeeping in a commercial environment is an asset
•  WHMIS training is an asset

Outdoor Programers - 4 Positions
The Outdoor Programmer participates in the planning, delivery, maintenance and administration of the centre's programme, site, facility, supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
•  Current Standard First Aid and CPR
•  Programme planning and delivery experience in outdoor recreation
•  Experience and/or certification or willingness to obtain certification in all programme activities offered by YWCA YoWoChAs Outdoor Education Centre (e.g. Canoeing, Kayaking, Ropes Courses, Environmental Education, Leadership Development), National Lifeguard Service is preferred
•  Experience with residential summer camp
•  On site residence is a requirement of this position
•  Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this position
•  Hours of work will vary with registered programming
•  A clear Criminal Record Check
•  A clear Intervention Record Check through Alberta's Children's Services

Leadership Specialists - 2 Positions
The Leadership Specialists are responsible for planning and delivering the Leaders-In-Training (LIT) and Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) programmes and also acts as a
resource staff person.

Qualifications Required:
•  18 years of age by commencement of camp program
•  Ability to work with youth between 14 and 16 years old
•  Current Standard First Aid & CPR
•  Pleasure Craft Operators Card is an asset
•  Current canoe instructor certification
•  Certification and/or experience leading beginner level out trips
•  High Level of programme delivery experience in both outdoor residential and out trip environments
• National Lifeguard Service certification is an asset
• Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this position
• Hours of work will vary but are usually between 7.30am until 10.00pm

The Programme Director is responsible for the planning, coordinating and delivering all base camp programs. In addition the Programme Director supervises an assigned group of Assistant Counsellors, providing them with guidance, mentorship and supervision.
Qualifications Required:

•  Current Standard First Aid & CPR
•  Pleasure Craft Operators Card is an asset
•  Current Canoe Instructor certification is an asset
•  Programme delivery in a residential camp setting
•  Challenge course instructor training/experience facilitating challenge course programmes
•  Comfortable working on all aspects of a high challenge course
•  On site residence is a requirement of this position

The Wellness/Inclusion Specialist is responsible for overseeing camper health, hygiene and safety; and providing assistance for campers with special needs.
Qualifications Required:

•  Experience with persons with special needs
•  Programme delivery in a residential camp setting

•  Pleasure Craft Operators Card
•  Curent National Lifeguard Service certification
•  Experience delivering programmes in a waterfront or lake setting
•  Instructor level in any boating discipline is an asset
•  On site residence is a requirement of this position
•  Evening and weekend work is a requirement
•  Hours of work will vary with registered programming program hours are usually 7:30am to 10:00pm

•  Pleasure Craft Operators Card
•  Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) Green Sail, equivalent or higher sailing certification

Co-Counselors - 7 Positions
Co-Counsellors assist Counsellors in providing a safe, fun and educational nature oriented camp experience for an assigned camper group.

•  16 years of age by commencement of camp program

•  An interest in working with children

Regardless of What Position you are interested in...
All programme staff members are required to live on site, accordingly room and partial board are provided. Due to the residential nature of the centre actual hours of work vary, however, programme hours are from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm. All positions work under the direction and guidance of the Programme Coordinator or the Programme Technician. All positions are required to submit a clear Criminal Record Check as well as a clear Intevention Record Check from Alberta Children's services.
