What are the rules ?
We live by the three respects here at YoWoChAs.. it's that simple.
Here is the mumbo jumbo from the rule book...
Respecting Self, Others and the Environment
At YoWoChAs Outdoor Education Centre we endeavor to show
respect for self, others, and the environment always. We also
try to make our programs a positive and safe experience for all.
In order to make this happen, we need you to be aware of your
actions, making sure that each action is respectful of self, others
and the environment.
Respecting Self
In order to respect self, visitors must be conscious of personal
needs, both physical and emotional. Participants should try to
meet these needs and remain safe throughout the visit. Some ways
people can remain physically and emotionally safe are:
• wearing footwear at all times
• wearing clothing appropriate to the activity and weather
• using bed sheets
• getting adequate rest
• maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene
• consuming an appropriate amount of food and drink
• reporting personal injury to YoWoChAs staff
• keeping the facility clean
• using appropriate safety precautions
• keeping within the boundaries set by YoWoChAs staff
Respecting Others
In order to achieve respect for self, visitors require respect
from each other. Ways visitors can respect each other include:
• listening when others are speaking
• following requests made by others
• placing gum in the garbage
• allowing others to get the appropriate amount of rest
• keeping the facility clean
• using appropriate safety rules
• avoid touching/ taking belongings of others
• keeping within the boundaries set by YoWoChAs staff
• keeping pets at home
• eliminating violent behaviors - physical, verbal, psychological
• not consumpting alcohol and drugs
• using tobacco products in designated areas only if you
are over 18 years old
Respecting the Environment
The YoWoChAs environment includes both natural and built objects.
Our environment is fragile and often humans do not realize the
effect of their actions on the environment. There are many ways
one can be conscious of the environment:
• using indoor and outdoor shoes
• leaving natural things alone (e.g. grass, leaves, et cetera)
• depositing waste in the appropriate places
• being conscious of energy use (e.g. lights and water)
• leaving all environments in the same or better condition
than found
• leaving pets at home
Where do I sleep ?
You will be sleeping in bunk rooms. Each room has 4 or 6 or 10
beds. They are bunk beds, so if you want a top bunk you'd better
hurry !
What will I eat ?
Our cooks make great food. We never know what it will be until
the meal is served, but it's things like grilled cheese, spaghetti,
chicken burgers or fingers, french fries, bagels, subs, and lots
of other things too !

orienteering, low ropes, zipline, high ropes, climbing wall, wilderness
skills, two different types of saunas, archery, tobogganing, lots
of games ( some of them using the whole site ), initiatives, and
